Rhythmical Massage Therapy is a form of therapeutic bodywork developed in the 1920's by Dr. Ita Wegman and Dr. Margarethe Hauschka that addresses the whole human being with intention to harmonize, provide relief and integration through archetypal rhythms of the human body. Unlike many of the massage modalities you may have experienced before, rhythmical massage uses a light touch that flows like water and invites the body to release tension. These gentle, warming motions address the whole person in a non-invasive and thoughtful manner to help restore the equilibrium and balance our bodies are constantly working towards. Rhythmical massage is deeply relaxing - one session can equal from one day to one week of impeccable and healing sleep. It’s not uncommon to fall asleep on the massage table, and many clients say they leave sessions feeling more relaxed than they’ve felt in years.

RMT can be like and manipulate any body of water you can imagine. For example, I can offer giant tidal waves of movement to the upper thighs to aid in digestion and breakdown process in metabolic realm. I can offer gentle wave laps like the ocean meeting the shore on a calm, sunny day in order to aid in stomach and nerve upset. I can offer little lily pad movements to sustain a healthy rhythm. I can mimic drops in the water that will filter out over the next two weeks like lovingly skipping a pebble in a lake...

Initial sessions are 90 minutes to 2 hours long. Following sessions are around 75 minutes. Each and every treatment is completely personalized for that day and the overall arch of things you wish to address.

The initial session covers an relaxed overview of your health history, where you are now, and which things you want to address with treatment. A treatment plan is created specifically for you and your wellness goals. Subsequent sessions will include a more brief conversation. I use an in-depth combination of scientific training and intuition to create each session unique for you and your needs. This type of treatment often feels very different than a typical Swedish or deep tissue massage. I often ask you to journal or take notes of how you feel 24 to 48 hours following treatment for discussion at beginning of your next treatment. The work addresses our fluid bodies and is often like the ripples you have witnessed in the water after tossing in a leaf or pebble. The work addresses your deepest soul level and ripples out into your body for days after each treatment. At the end of each session, there is a savasana or resting period. It is vital that this therapeutic work has 5-20 minutes to resonate throughout your tissue to allow the healing to continue its work, prior to leaving the massage table and immediately moving into habitual movement patterns.

Comfortable, warm and non-constrictive clothing feel best after a session. Otherwise, just yourself. I accept payment prior to treatment, via cash, check, credit card or Venmo.

Rhythmical massage resonates like music. Please notice how you feel 24 hours after a session. It can be very helpful to write or draw about your experience directly after and in 24 hour increments after each session until your next treatment. Drink plenty of water and/or herbal tea and eat food that makes you feel warm and nourished. It is ideal if you can rest or at least move slowly for remainder of the day after treatment.

I use the highest quality biodynamic oils (Dr. Hauschka, Uriel, True Botanica, Weleda) and each substance is specifically chosen for you. If possible, please wait 24 hours after your session to bathe or shower. Our skin is the body's largest organ. Everything that touches our skin is absorbed and taken into our blood stream. These oils are highly therapeutic and will continue to offer healing after our time together is complete. Please avoid chemical and synthetic detergents for your immediate and long-term health.

Payment & Insurance

I accept payment via cash, check, credit/debit, and Venmo. Payment is due at the beginning of each session; I find this creates a better experience, as it allows you to enjoy treatment and smoothly transition into your post-treatment activities. Packages and discounts are available after the initial session on a case by case basis in congruence with our developed treatment plan. Individuals who have financial constraints are welcome to discuss this with me to see what can be worked out.

I do not provide direct billing for insurance. It is best to get a prescription from a doctor if you wish to submit to your insurance company. I provide you with a receipt but cannot guarantee that your visits will be covered by insurance.

Lateness & cancellation policy

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will be charged for the full amount of the session unless the appointment can be filled. Exceptions can be made for emergencies, at my discretion. If I need to cancel an appointment, I will do so within 24 hours whenever possible. If I cannot give 24 hours notice, your next session will be given free of charge. If a client is late for a treatment session, the session still ends on time. If I am late, the session lasts the full time or the treatment rate is discounted.

Alcohol, Drug & Harassment Policy

I reserve the right to refrain from working on a person who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Sexual harassment is not tolerated. If either the client’s or the practitioner’s safety feels compromised, the session is stopped immediately.
